Three gauges sit at nine, three and six o'clock, each with its own scale, a filled arc, a needle, an icon and the value: Body Battery, steps and intensity minutes by default, or stress, sleep score, recovery time, battery and floors. A needle runs from empty to a goal or a full scale, so a gauge always means something. Four readings sit in the corners, an icon over its value, from twenty sources: heart rate, the weather, calories and the next sunrise or sunset by default, or Body Battery, stress, today's high and low, respiration, Pulse Ox, recovery time, VO2 max, sleep score, steps, distance, elevation, pressure, notifications and more. At twelve, battery and alerts, and the day and date in a window, in your watch's own language. VO2 max and sleep score show on the watches that report them. Touch and hold a gauge or a reading to open the watch's own glance for it: Body Battery, stress, heart rate, steps, the weather and the rest. Hold the date for your calendar. On touch-screen watches with current firmware. The hour and minute hands are outlined in the dial's colour so they read cleanly over a gauge. Turn on adaptive hands and a hand opens to an outline wherever it crosses a gauge or a reading, so the needle and the number under it show through. The hands come in the theme's colour, its accent or lume, with a bold outline for more contrast, and a seconds hand can tick or sweep. A minute track runs round the rim. Every figure is set in Saira. Five themes: Carbon, Steel, Navy, Racing and Arctic, a white dial. On memory-in-pixel screens every theme is drawn for 64 colours. The always-on mode keeps the hands in outline, the hour markers and the date.
