In Garmin Connect, open the activity → settings → export (this downloads a ZIP). 2. Go to https://parse.detectori.st/ and drop in the ZIP. 3. Download your finds as GPX, KML, or CSV — with category and coordinates. The parser runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device and nothing is stored on any server — it's fast, private, and free. Version 1.2.0 – Custom find categories • 3 custom categories: name them yourself in the app settings (Garmin Connect app on your phone → Detectorist → Settings). Examples: "Button", "Bullet", "Ring". Leave a field empty to hide that category from the menu. • Custom categories appear in the find menu right after the 6 built-in ones (Coin, Iron, Non-ferrous, Jewelry, Trash, Other). • Your custom names are saved in the activity file, so the free companion site (FIT → GPX/KML/CSV) shows and exports them exactly as you typed them. • The companion site has been updated and still reads activities recorded with version 1.0. No-GPS warning: if you press START to mark a find before the watch has a GPS fix, you now get a warning screen (START = mark anyway, BACK = cancel). Finds marked without a fix have no position on the map. • GPS lock vibration: a short double buzz tells you the watch has a position and you can start marking. • Summary screen: press UP or DOWN on the main screen to see finds per category (including your custom ones), the last find with its time, and your pace. • Live pace on the main screen: finds per hour and per kilometre, shown once the session has enough data. Notes: • Custom names are limited to 15 characters. • Settings are only available for apps installed from the Connect IQ Store, not for sideloaded copies.
