Gridhunt turns your rides into map tiles (the standard zoom-14 grid, about 1.6 km) and finds your biggest square. This app shows your tiles on your bike computer or watch while you ride, records the ride and sends it to your Gridhunt account. What it does: • Ride recording: START / pause, laps, saved as a regular activity (the FIT file goes to Garmin Connect). After saving, the ride also goes straight to Gridhunt. • Its own map from OpenStreetMap data, rotating with your direction of travel, with several styles (Light topo, Cycling, High contrast, Night; dark on watches). The map of recently visited areas also works without a phone connection. • Tiles on the map: visited, new on this ride, your biggest square and your target. A "NEW TILE!" alert with a sound when you enter a new tile and, without a route, an arrow and the distance to the nearest new tile. • Routes saved in Gridhunt: pick a route from the list and the device guides you along it (turn arrows, distance to the finish, "Off route" alert) and shows the tiles the route will add. • A field bar at the bottom of the screen (one or two rows): new tiles, square, speed, distance, time and more. • Pages: map, ride statistics, a large tile grid and, on Edge bike computers, bike lights (off / steady / flashing). • Wind relative to your direction of travel (from the forecast in Garmin Connect). • 9 languages: English, Polish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Czech, Danish. Free and paid: The app is free. Without a subscription you can record rides and upload them to Gridhunt (the tiles from your rides count on your account), use the OpenStreetMap map, ride statistics, bike lights and wind. A Gridhunt Premium subscription is required for: • tiles on the device during the ride (tiles on the map and on the grid page, new tiles, your square and target, the "NEW TILE!" alert, the arrow to the nearest new tile), • riding routes saved in Gridhunt (the route list and turn-by-turn guidance). You buy Premium at gridhunt.app or in the Gridhunt app for iPhone or Android, not in the Connect IQ Store. Without Premium the app shows "Gridhunt Premium required" in those places. Requirements: • A Gridhunt account (gridhunt.app). • A phone with the Garmin Connect app (or Wi-Fi on bike computers that have it) to download tiles, the map and routes and to upload rides. • Pairing with a code: in Gridhunt open Settings → Connections → "Connect device" and enter the 6-character code in Garmin Connect → your device → Connect IQ apps → Gridhunt → Settings → "Pairing code". Or start the app: it shows a code that you enter in Gridhunt ("Code from device"). The app and the Gridhunt Live data field are paired separately. • Bike lights: the ANT+ Bike Lights profile (a light network paired with your Edge). The app uses no other ANT+ sensors. Privacy: the app sends Gridhunt your current position (to download the tiles and map around you; we don't store it) and the track of a saved ride. It doesn't send heart rate or power. Position marker with your profile photo: in the menu "Position marker" choose arrow, photo with collar, cone, pin (default) or arc. The photo comes from your Gridhunt profile; without a photo the marker shows your initial. Wind in the top banner, the route is cleared after saving a ride, and smaller fixes.
