This widget shows you your closest 25 or 50 parkruns and/or junior parkruns (depending on device) to your current, recent, last or saved locations stored on your watch or cycle computer. If your device is capable of showing maps, you can select a parkrun and view the parkrun course on a map. Please see the list of limitations and notes at the end (click more below) The widget allows you to see parkruns listed by road distance or as the crow flies from a specific location. When road distances are used, a driving time estimate is given. This requires internet access to download the data, but once it is downloaded, it is stored on the device for offline access. If your device is capable of displaying maps, you can select an individual parkrun to display the course on a map. Once the course is downloaded, it is also available offline. The courses which are downloaded are highlighted with a * in the menu of parkruns. Once you have viewed a course, it is stored on your watch for future viewing and you can download multiple courses simply by viewing them once. Use the start/select button or tap on touchscreen devices to view the course, and from the preview map, use select or tap again to change to browse mode where you can zoom in or out and move the map. Use the back button to return to preview and again to return to the list of parkruns. There is a settings menu to allow you to select parkruns, junior parkruns or both, allow you to choose your distance units which defaults to the setting on your device and to choose distances by road or as the crow flies. You can also select to sort by road distance or driving time. If you have maps, you can select the track colour and width too. If you change from parkrun to junior parkrun, you can re-load the list of parkruns by scrolling to the end of the list and selecting the re-load option. This is also useful to re-load the list if you think a new parkrun may have started or if you change from road to direct distances or change the sort order. There is also a save location option at the end too. If you change to a new unsaved location, the list is automatically re-loaded. You can also reload the course for a particular parkrun if you think it may have changed, by using the menu button, or using hold on a touchscreen device when on the map preview page (not from browse mode). The widget glance shows the last location used. Glance folder icon shows distance to closest parkrun at this location. Limitations and notes: 1) Distances by road and driving time are estimates based on an arbitrary route, they should not be relied upon. Driving time does not take current traffic into account. 2) The widget does not tell you if the parkrun is currently running. Please check the parkrun event website for full details. 3) The displayed course is only as good as the data from the event course page. If the event is using an alternate course, or is out of date you may not run what is displayed on the widget. This is meant to be a useful aid and not a definitive guide. 4) Some courses on the event web site have been hand drawn or may be inaccurate so the widget should not be used for navigation. 5) The widget attempts to display the course correctly, but if the course is drawn using multiple tracks on the event course page, there could be misleading tracks shown as the widget attempts to join these together as it can only display a single track. Upton Court parkrun is a good example of this. 6) The widget attempts to show the start and finish locations, but as there is no standard way this is displayed on the event course page, this is not always possible. If you have any questions or problems, please use the "Contact developer" link rather than leaving a question in the feedback. I will attempt to respond to all requests. Please include your email address, I have no way to respond to you without this.
