Keterangan
Raise your wrist to the sky and see which planet, star or Moon you are looking at.
Ever wondered what that bright star in the evening sky is? Often it isn't a star at all, but
a planet: Venus or Jupiter. Or which constellation is right above you? That's what Zenith is
for. You get the answer instantly, right on your wrist, without reaching for your phone.
Zenith turns your watch into a window to the night sky. Raise your arm, point the back of the
watch at the sky and the display shows exactly what is there: planets, the Moon and the
brightest stars, labelled by name. Aim the crosshair at a bright dot and Zenith tells you
what it is, how high it is and in which direction.
Everything is calculated on the watch itself. No phone, no internet and no subscription.
A single GPS fix is enough, and your last position is remembered.
WHAT YOU SEE
• All planets from Mercury to Neptune, the Moon with its current phase, and the Sun
(shown as a warning, never as a target).
• Up to 90 of the brightest stars with their traditional names.
• Horizon line and compass directions whenever they are in view.
• A compass tape at the bottom with the direction you are pointing, and a small gauge with
how high above the horizon you are pointing.
• A crosshair that identifies the nearest object within 10° and shows its altitude and
azimuth.
• If you point below the horizon, an arrow tells you to raise your arm.
CONSTELLATIONS
Zenith shows the figure and the name of the constellation you are pointing at, only that one,
so the view stays clean. Names follow the official IAU constellation boundaries. Point at the
Big Dipper and you see just the Dipper; anywhere else in Ursa Major you see the whole Great Bear.
PLANET PATH
Target a planet or the Moon and Zenith draws its path across the sky for the next 3, 6 or
12 hours. Hourly marks show the local time, and the part below the horizon is dimmed, so you
can see at a glance when an object rises higher or when it sets.
MADE FOR THE DARK
• Red night mode, on by default, keeps your eyes adapted to the dark.
• Object list with the altitude and azimuth of the Sun, Moon and all planets.
ACCURATE
• Planet and Moon positions come from established astronomical models (JPL Keplerian
elements, a lunar theory after Meeus), including precession, parallax and refraction. They
are accurate to about 0.1° until 2050.
• Pointing accuracy depends on your watch's compass, typically a few degrees after
calibration. Zenith includes its own guided compass calibration, or you can rely on the
watch's own compass calibration instead.
SETTINGS
Night mode, keep the display on while you point at the sky (separate brightness for night
and day mode),
magnitude limit (how many stars are shown), field of view, planet path length,
magnetic declination, refraction, objects below the horizon, and smoothing.
LANGUAGES
English, Čeština, Deutsch, Français, Español, including planet, star and constellation names. Zenith
follows your watch language by default, and you can change it in the menu.
REQUIREMENTS
A Garmin watch with a compass (magnetometer), an accelerometer and a colour display. All
compatible watches listed on this page have both sensors.
PRIVACY
Zenith does not collect, send or share any data. Your location is used only on the watch to
calculate the sky and is stored only on the watch.
How to use:
1. Start Zenith. On first launch it offers a compass calibration: tap START and draw a
figure eight with your arm for about 15 seconds, away from metal and electronics.
2. Wait for a GPS fix outdoors. You only need it once; the location is remembered.
3. Raise your arm above your head and look at the display from below. The display shows the
part of the sky behind the watch.
4. Aim the crosshair at an object to see its name, altitude and azimuth.
5. Swipe up or down to switch between the sky, the object list and the calibration. Swipe
in from the right
