Point your watch at the sky and learn what's up there. Stars, planets, comets, nebulae - all offline. ⭐ Night Sky Atlas ⭐ turns the compass into a window on the real sky: over 2000 stars, all 88 constellations with their figures and names, the planets, the Moon with its true phase, deep-sky objects, meteor shower radiants and comets. Zoom in and fainter stars appear, exactly as they would through a wider aperture. Zoom in further and the star names arrive. Whatever is nearest the centre of the view is named under the crosshair — a star, a planet, a Messier object, a comet. ⭐ Everything works with no phone and no signal: There is no account, no download, and nothing to go wrong on a mountain. The whole sky is in the watch. ⭐⭐⭐ Much more beyond the star map: ⭐ Astro Data: Sunrise, sunset and all four twilights as coloured bands, so you can see at a glance how long after sunset it stays usably dark. Plus day length, true astronomical darkness, and the Moon's phase, rise and set. ⭐ Visible Now: everything the app knows, ranked by what is up right now and how high, with altitude and bearing for each, set times for what is up and rise times for what is not. Pick a row for its full details and to drop it onto the sky chart as a marker ⭐ Deep sky objects: See all Messier objects with pictures and location on the sky. ⭐ Constellations: See all 88 constellations up close and learn the names of the bright stars. ⭐ Upcoming: two years of sky ahead. Eclipses, meteor shower peaks with the Moon's brightness at the peak (the thing that decides whether a shower is worth the sleep), planetary conjunctions, oppositions, greatest elongations, comet peaks, equinoxes and solstices. Each one tells you whether it is visible from where you are, for example, a total lunar eclipse with the Moon below your horizon says so. ⭐ Night mode: draws everything in shades of red on black, so you can read the screen beside a telescope without losing the dark adaptation it took half an hour to build. === Controls ==== ⭐ Point-and-see mode: The view follows the compass and the tilt of your wrist. To zoom press START. Marks on the bezel beside each key always show what it does and which zoom level you are on. ⭐ Manual control for when the compass cannot help — indoors, beside a car, or planning tomorrow night from an armchair. START then switches UP and DOWN between altitude, azimuth and zoom, so you can point the view anywhere without moving your wrist (same as Garmin maps). ⭐ Combined mode: You can trun off the accelerometer and use just the compass. Go up and down with UP/DOWN buttons or tapping on the screen. That's useful for when you don't want to hold your hand high for a prolonged time. ⭐ Full customization: Every layer — constellation lines, names, planets, the ecliptic, the celestial equator, the horizon grid — can be switched off. ==== What the app does NOT do ==== - **No satellite or ISS passes.** These need orbital elements that go stale within days. - **No aurora forecast.** Needs a live geomagnetic index. - **No cloud cover or weather.** Needs a forecast. - **Solar eclipse local circumstances are not claimed.** The app tells you an eclipse is happening, its type, and whether the Sun is above your horizon at the time. Whether it is total or partial *from your exact spot* depends on lunar parallax and is deliberately not asserted.
