Your sun and your sky, right on your wrist.
Your Garmin's solar panel catches sunlight all day long. SolarDay finally shows it off. The ring glows everywhere your watch caught the sun, the window paints the sky above you, and at night your sun sign lights up in real stars over the Milky Way.
THE RING: YOUR DAY OF SUN
- Every 15 minutes of light leaves a glow: a thin ember in weak light, blazing white in strong sun. It clears at midnight.
- The ring is a 24-hour clock with noon at the top. The sun rides it as a bead, its rays growing with the sunlight right now.
- Inside it: today's golden hour and twilight where you are.
- At night the moon takes over, at tonight's real phase.
- Solstices, equinoxes and the best meteor shower nights are marked.
THE WINDOW: YOUR SKY
- By day, a painted sky with the sun at its real height and your weather in it: clouds, rain, storms, snow or fog.
- At sunset, golden hour, then the blue hour, then 16 steps of twilight into the night.
- At night, today's sun sign, such as Leo, drawn from its real stars in their true colors over the Milky Way. A new sign each month.
- Or Tonight's sky: the stars, planets and Moon above you right now.
SUN YOU CAN COUNT
- Full sun today, measured, not guessed: an hour at half strength counts as 30 minutes.
- FULL, never 0. When your battery is full, Garmin pauses solar charging. SolarDay says FULL and marks that time on the ring.
- Your last 7 days as bars, with your weekly total and your best day.
MADE FOR SUNLIGHT
Big LCD-style digits and sharp pixel icons, the weather in natural colors like a gold sun or blue rain, all drawn to read at a glance outdoors.
MAKE IT YOURS
- 16 looks, one tap each, from Golden Hour to Observatory. Developer's Preference puts back the face as it ships.
- 8 accent colors, 7 ring colors, and a dark or light background, or light by day and dark at night.
- Observatory red turns the face red from full dark to dawn, easy on night vision.
- Optional: a wrist-raise show and status marks.
- Touch a field to open its app. Every setting is in the Connect IQ app.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Give it a minute. After you install or change a setting, the window shows a simple sky while it paints the real one, and the ring's glow takes a few minutes, fastest while you look.
- Your first evening: after an install or a settings change by day, your sun sign can take up to 20 minutes after dusk to appear, and the sky may run a step behind in the blue hour. After that, it's on time.
- The night your sun sign changes, the new one appears about 30 minutes after midnight.
- Strong sun on your panel shows a clear sky. Otherwise the sky follows Garmin's weather: rain, storms, snow and fog each paint their own sky, and at sunset only rain, storms and snow do.
- On a new install, the ring and your week of sun start filling from that moment.
- No solar panel? The ring traces the sun's path, dim red ahead, and the sun line shows the day's length, such as 12h06.
- Sunrise, sunset and the sky come from your last known place or your phone's weather. SolarDay never turns on GPS.
- If the face won't load after an update, pick another face, then SolarDay again. Reinstalling erases your week of sun.
- Permissions: background (measuring while the face is covered), location (sunrise and sunset), sensor history, profile and complications (data fields).
- One price, no subscription, no unlock codes. You can request a refund within 48 hours of purchase.
Αρχείο αλλαγών
SolarDay 2.3: your weather, in the sky and in color.
- New AMOLED watches: fenix 8 AMOLED, tactix 8 and quatix 8, fenix 8 Pro and MicroLED, quatix 8 Pro, and fenix 9 Pro 51 mm, each with an always-on face.
- The sky by day paints your weather: streaks of rain, a dark storm with a lightning bolt, snowflakes, or banks of fog. Strong sun on your panel still shows a clear sky.
- Weather icons in natural colors, by day and by night, such as a gold sun, blue rain and a yellow lightning bolt. The sun line's sun and the sunrise and sunset marks are redrawn too.
- fenix 6 Pro series: these watches stay on 1.2.5, which keeps working as it does today. Support for them is planned.
- New in 2.2: watches without a solar panel, and planet names in Tonight's sky.
SolarDay 2.1: your real sky, and Tonight's sky is back.
- The sky shows the weather that's really there. Your watch's own solar panel decides first: when it sees strong sun, the window shows a clear sky, whatever the forecast says. Haze now draws a clear sky and Cloudy draws blue sky with clouds. Only fog, mist, rain or snow turn it gray, and at sunset only rain or snow can.
- Tonight's sky is back: the stars, planets and Moon above you right now (Night sky, Tonight's sky). It fills in within a minute while you look at your watch, with no blank window while it gets ready. While it's on, the ring shows its simple style from dusk to dawn (except on the fenix 7S and 7S Pro).
- The Sky look shows Tonight's sky at night again.
- fenix 6 Pro series: these watches stay on 1.2.5. Support for them is planned.
SolarDay 2.0: your sun by day, your sun sign's stars at night.
- Your sky in a window. By day, a painted sky with the sun at its real height. At dusk, golden hour, the blue hour and 16 steps of twilight. At night, today's sun sign drawn from its real stars over the Milky Way, a new sign each month. It's on from the start (Bottom arc, The sky by day).
- A ring that remembers the sun. It glows wherever your panel caught light today, from ember in weak light to white in strong sun, with today's golden hour and twilight inside it.
- FULL, never 0. When your battery is full, Garmin pauses solar charging. SolarDay now says FULL and marks that time on the ring (Solar at a full battery).
- A sharper face for bright sun. Redrawn pixel by pixel for your watch's screen: one-color icons, even rows and big digits you can read at a glance. Your watch opens on it after the update, and Developer's Preference under Apply a look brings it back anytime.
- 5 new looks: Sky, Golden Hour, Blue Hour, Observatory and Daylight. 16 in all, one tap each.
- More to make it yours: Observatory red to protect your night vision, solstices, equinoxes and meteor shower nights marked on the ring, Training Status, bold digits, a short show when you raise your wrist, and small status marks.
- Travels with you. Daylight saving days and flights across time zones keep your day's sun.
- Your week of sun, your language and your time format carry over.
- Gone in 2.0: the Sun bonus, race predictions, weekly running and cycling distance, feels like, UV index, cloud cover, dew point, tomorrow's high and low, week number, UTC, the next calendar event, the ring's heart rate, stress and Body Battery, altitude and pressure charts, leaning digits, unlit segments and lume, retired to make room for the sky. A field that showed one of them goes back to its default. Stars are always drawn as rays.
- fenix 6 Pro series: 2.0 needs more memory than the fenix 6 Pro, 6S Pro and 6X Pro watches have (quatix 6 and tactix Delta included), so they stay on 1.2.5, which keeps working as it does today. Support for these watches is planned.
