Its leaves are your Body Battery: rested, all eighteen are on the bough in red, orange and gold; as the day spends your energy they fall from the tips inward, and every leaf that falls drifts down to the hill below. You read it at a glance, and a small legend underneath says what the leaves are measuring and how far along they are. The hill holds four readings: stress, heart rate, the weather, and the next sunrise or sunset, each marked by its icon. Battery and alerts sit with the date at the top. The sky follows the sun: a misty dawn, a crisp blue day, an amber dusk and a starry night, when the leaves turn to moonlit colours. Or keep one of five skies: dawn, day, dusk, night or golden. The numerals are Fraunces, a soft serif. On memory-in-pixel screens every sky is drawn for 64 colours, dithered by hand; on AMOLED it is a smooth gradient. The always-on mode keeps the bough, its leaves and the time. Free, for the season.
