Description

Skredfare shows today's avalanche danger level from NVE (the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) where you are. One number and one word, right on your watch. No region to pick, no account, no subscription. The app uses your location and finds the forecast region itself. You see the danger level on the 1 to 5 scale, the region and tomorrow's level. Press START to see yesterday's level, NVE's main message, the avalanche problems with aspect and elevation, and NVE's advice. Going somewhere else? Add up to three places in the app settings in the Connect IQ app, for example «Romsdalseggen». Scroll between the places with UP and DOWN, and choose which place the watch shows first. On older watches without glances, START shows a list of the places. The glance shows the level without opening the app. The forecast updates in the background about once an hour when the watch is connected to your phone. Yesterday's forecast is never shown as if it were today's. NVE forecasts regions, not single places. A region can cover 100 to 8000 km², and the danger level is the highest expected in the region. NVE issues daily forecasts from 1 December to 31 May for the mountain areas with most avalanches. Elsewhere, forecasts are only issued at high danger. When there is no danger level to show, press START to see why. On fēnix 6, fēnix 6S, Forerunner 245, Venu Sq and Enduro there is not enough memory for avalanche problems and advice. There the app shows the danger level and the main message. It works in Norway only, and the text on the watch is in Norwegian. It needs the Garmin Connect app on your phone. Your location is sent rounded to about 1 km. The app shows NVE's official forecast and is for guidance only. What is new

Choose your areas on the watch. Scroll down to «Mine steder» and tick up to three of NVE’s forecast regions. The place settings in the Connect IQ app have been removed. Smoother scrolling in the forecast text, and a new page indicator.
