This is a public beta. Some features are still rough, data formats may change between builds, and bugs are expected. Turn your Garmin into a real climbing activity recorder. Track rock climbing and training — multipitch (multi-pitch), sport, bouldering, indoor, ice, and hangboard as proper FIT activities that sync to Garmin Connect, with pitch-by-pitch breakdowns, vertical gain, climb-vs-belay time, grades, ascent style, and post-session analytics. Disciplines: * Multipitch — mark pitches yourself or turn on automatic pitch detection in settings, vertical gain per pitch, pitch count, climb-vs-belay time split, approach & descent phases you switch from the menu (automatic phase detection is optional too) * Sport — send/attempt, ascent style (onsight/flash/redpoint), lead vs top-rope, route grade, rest timer * Bouldering — attempt counter, send %, rest timers, per-problem grade & ascent style (no GPS) * Indoor — time-on-wall, grade and lead/top-rope per climb for gym sessions (no GPS) * Ice — WI/AI/M grades, built on the multipitch pitch engine * Hangboard (fingerboard) — Max Hangs, Repeaters, and custom grip strength protocols with added or removed weight Under the hood: * Climbing-specific data fields recorded into your FIT activity and Garmin Connect * Optional barometric-altimeter pitch detection, with a manual lap override always available * Per-discipline post-session summaries on the watch * Crash/restart-survivable recording tuned for long days out Outdoor modes work on Garmin multisport watches with heart rate, barometric altimeter, and GPS (Fenix, Forerunner, Instinct 3, and similar). Gym modes (bouldering, indoor) run on most Connect IQ watches. Climbing is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Sender is a recreational activity-recording tool only — it is not a safety device and must never be used to make decisions about protection, anchors, belaying, rappelling, weather, exposure, or route-finding. The barometric altimeter and GPS are consumer-grade and can be inaccurate. You are solely responsible for your own safety.

v0.6.0.beta — Spet 30, 2026 New * Climb State chart in Garmin Connect. Roped sessions now show a chart of your day: hiking, on rope (belaying, resting, rappelling), or climbing. * Better counting of sport climbing and belaying times * Sport climbing has per-route grade in Garmin Connect * Automatic pitch and phase detection default to off * Short safety notice * Support for additional devices Fixed * Sport laps: fixed an off-by-one that mixed up route numbers, and routes that ended with a lower-off are no longer lost. Live elevation gain is also correct again. * Sport walk-out: the app now recovers from a walk-out back to climbing only in Sport, where that makes sense. * Garmin Connect laps: laps no longer show leftover values from the previous lap. * Some cutoff text on certain devices was fixed. v0.5.5.beta — Sept 22, 2026 New * Support for Fenix 9 series and Descent series Fixed * Fixed crashes on Instinct 3 Solar when starting app * Tweaked screens on AMOLED displays (e.g. Forerunner 165) v0.5.4.beta — Aug 26, 2026 New * Sport rope style (Lead/Top-rope/Follow) can now be set right from the in-climb menu * Indoor climbs now track rope style (Lead or Top-rope) per climb * Added a rest/countdown timer for Sport and Indoor climbing, similar to bouldering * Add support for more watches Fixed * Fixed some formatting issues * Fixed rare crash when quickly finishing and starting a new activity * Removed ability to increment pitches during multipitch walk off _______________________________________________________________________ v0.5.2.beta — Aug 5, 2026 New * Redesigned the active screens with a cleaner 2-column data grid * You can now choose which fields show on the second live data screen, and it remembers your choice * Added a confirmation prompt before discarding a session from the summary screen Fixed * Fixed the timer overlapping the status label on active climb/boulder/indoor screens * Fixed text getting cut off on round-screen watches * Fixed Completed/Attempted status not being recorded live during indoor climbs _______________________________________________________________________ v0.5.1.beta — Aug 4, 2026 New * Imperial units option for hangboard weight * Grade labels now shown in your Garmin Connect activity data * Richer paused-session menu with more options, across all climbing types * New second live data screen during activities, including climb time * Indoor climbs now record grade and climb type Fixed * Crash recovery is smarter: it resumes your climb between routes, shows which activity it's recovering, and always picks the most recent saved session * Removed heart rate data from indoor summaries * Fixed the app failing to install on some watch models _______________________________________________________________________ v0.4.1.beta — Jul 29, 2026 New * Added Hangboard training mode — pick a protocol, follow guided hang/rest intervals, and save it as a recorded activity * Indoor climbs now capture grade and Completed/Attempted status
