Description

(Full description in English below.) Free, with no ads and nothing to buy. READY FOR 3x15 - Best of 3 games to 15, the official scoring from 4 January 2027: win by 2 from 14-all, and at 20-all the next point wins. An interval when the leading score reaches 8, and a change of ends at 8 in the deciding game. - Best of 3 games to 21, the scoring until then: win by 2 from 20-all, and at 29-all the next point wins. Interval and deciding-game change of ends at 11. - Also one game to 21, and best of 5 games to 11. - Until 3 January 2027 a new match starts on 3x21, from 4 January 2027 on 3x15, and the app remembers your last choice. THE SERVER AND THE COURT - Rally scoring: one press per rally, UP for your side, DOWN for theirs (on Venu, vivoactive and other two-button watches: START and BACK, or a tap on the top or bottom half). - Singles: serve and receive from the right court on an even score, the left on an odd score; the screen shows it. - Doubles: the screen shows who serves and from which court ("YOU R", "PARTNER L", "THEY R"). Partners change courts only when their side wins a point on its own serve, as the rules say. - After each game the winners serve first; in doubles the app asks "Who starts right?" when the match starts, and again from the menu before the next game. - Game point and match point: a banner and a buzz, also when the next point wins the game for either side (20-all in a game to 15). - Interval: a banner and a buzz at 8 (11 in a game to 21). - Made a mistake? Undo goes back through the whole match, even past the end of a game. - Touch scoring can be switched off in the menu, so a wet screen never adds a point. SAVED AS BADMINTON On watches with recent Garmin software the match is saved as Garmin's Racket / Badminton type, named "Badminton". On Instinct 2 and older models it is saved as Tennis, still named "Badminton". Every game is a lap, and the final score ("15-12 13-15 15-9") is saved with the activity, with time and heart rate. ALWAYS A WAY OUT BACK (hold BACK on Venu, vivoactive and other two-button watches) opens the match menu: Undo point, Resume, Save or Discard. Save and Discard ask again. Nothing starts the next game until you do. Long matches save: tested with a full 3x21 match at 29-all in every game (177 rallies), saved with all three games. BATTERY The app never turns on GPS (badminton is played indoors). The recording ends when you save or discard; nothing keeps running after you leave the app. MADE FOR INSTINCT 2 Big digits on the Instinct 2, 2S and 2X screens, with the time and the games in the round window.
