Description

How did that last rep go? And the one before? Lap Recap is a data field that shows your most recent completed laps, one line per lap: pace, distance and average heart rate. You hit the lap button, finish a rep, glance down, and see how it compares to the rest of your session. It does not show live numbers. Your current pace belongs on your normal data screen. Lap Recap is the record of what you've already run. WHAT YOU SEE Each lap gets one row: - Lap number - Pace, big enough to read on the run - Distance - Average heart rate, in the colour of your heart-rate zone Under each lap is a pace bar. A longer bar means a slower lap. The bars are scaled around the laps on screen, so you can see at a glance whether you are holding your pace, fading or finishing strong. The bar has the same colour as the heart rate, so you see effort next to speed. REPS ONLY In an interval session the jogs and walks between reps fill up the screen. Lap Recap spots them from your pace and hides them, so your reps sit next to each other. It only does this when the session clearly alternates between fast and slow laps. A steady run, or a run with a fast last kilometre, is left alone and every lap stays visible. The recovery laps are only estimated from pace, so if a slow rep ever gets hidden, turn "Show reps only" off in the settings and you will see every lap. GOOD FOR - Track sessions: 400s, 800s, 1000s - Intervals with manual laps - Tempo and long runs with auto lap every kilometre - Checking your laps when you run a race in splits HOW TO SET IT UP 1. Install Lap Recap from the Connect IQ Store. 2. On your watch, open the run activity settings and add a new data screen with ONE field. 3. Choose Connect IQ fields, then Lap Recap. 4. Put it next to your usual data screen. Scroll to it when you want to look back. Lap Recap is designed to fill a whole screen. In a smaller field it has too little room to show the laps well. SETTINGS "Show reps only" (on by default). Change it in the Connect IQ app on your phone, or on the watch during a run: hold UP, choose Connect IQ fields, then Lap Recap. "Maximum laps" (new in 1.1): choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 laps. Fewer laps get bigger digits; 5 fits more history in smaller digits. The default is 4. Available on the Forerunner 965, Forerunner 970, Forerunner 570 47mm, fēnix 8 47mm / 51mm (and tactix 8 / quatix 8), fēnix 8 Pro 47mm / 51mm, epix Pro (Gen 2) 51mm and Venu 4 45mm. In a smaller data field it may show fewer laps. GOOD TO KNOW - Metric only: pace per kilometre, distance in metres and kilometres. - Heart-rate colours use the running heart-rate zones from your Garmin profile. - Larger screens show 4 laps, smaller screens 2 or 3. On the watches listed under "Maximum laps" you can choose. - Lap Recap collects no data and needs no internet connection. I built Lap Recap because I wanted to see my last reps without scrolling through lap screens. Questions or ideas? Use the contact option on this page.
