On the service's website, enable two-factor authentication and choose an authenticator app. Select the manual-entry option to obtain its secret key. 2. In the Connect IQ app on your phone, open Handy Authenticator → Settings → Token 1. 3. Enter the secret key. The Service field is optional; use a name such as Email, or Email:[email protected] to include an account label. Save the settings. Use Token 2 through Token 10 for more accounts. 4. Open the watch app and enter its code on the service's website to finish setup. For 7- or 8-digit codes, custom periods, SHA256 or HOTP, paste the full otpauth:// setup link into the Secret key field instead of a bare key. ADD ON THE WATCH On watches that support text entry, open About → Settings → Add token. Enter the key and name, review the code options, preview the code and save. GLANCE AND CONTROLS About → Settings → Show glance code enables glance codes; each account's Hide glance code option still applies. Glance name only replaces the account, code and timer with the app name. Use UP/DOWN to scroll, START to select and BACK to return. Touch is available on compatible watches. Open a token and press START for options; for HOTP, choose Next code to advance the counter. GOOD TO KNOW • Time-based codes require the correct watch time. Check the watch time if a code is rejected. • Accounts are stored on the watch. Keys entered in Connect IQ settings are transferred through Garmin's apps. You can also enter a key directly on a watch that supports text entry. • Communications permission supports optional iPhone companion account sync and management. The watch app generates codes locally and has no analytics or advertising. • SHA512 accounts are not supported by this watch app. The watch app does not scan QR codes; use a secret key or otpauth:// setup link. • Keep your service's recovery codes safe.
