Description

StatiQ guides a dry static breath-hold training on land: calm breathing, a timed exhale and inhale cue, then holds that grow by 30 s per block (the Ladder), finished by an optional max hold. Vibrations mark every phase, so you can keep your eyes closed. Four menus: Training, Breathing, Progress and Language. Training: CO2 and O2 tables computed from your measured max with three effort levels (Light / Medium / High), the Ladder and the Maximum test. Each mode opens Start, its one setting and its History. Breathing: Energize (kapalabhati with a metronome and vibration) and Relax (4-7-8 breathing, 1 to 5 minutes), with live heart rate and stress, a history with stats and pages that explain how to do it and what it does. Progress: My progress shows your max over time, your personal records and the latest session of each mode. Analysis answers four questions on charts: Performance (max and tables), Body (heart rate, dive reflex, HRV), Training (how often, week by week) and Next step. Tap any point of a chart to see its value and day; on watches without a touch screen, START shows a cursor that UP and DOWN move. During a hold the watch shows the time and your heart rate; one page down shows stress, HRV (RMSSD), the last known SpO2 value and, while you breathe calmly, the breathing rate. After the session you see your result: for CO2 and O2 tables the level, the hold and whether the table was clean; for the Ladder and the Maximum the change against last time and a new-record headline. One page down are the lowest and highest heart rate, stress, HRV, SpO2 and breathing rate. The activity is saved to Garmin Connect with laps and extra data fields. THE PROTOCOL The structure is inspired by a small pilot study (Bezruk et al., Sports 2024, 15 participants): six dry holds of 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 s with 60 s rests, the last one to your maximum, about 4 sessions a week. One deliberate change for safety: the study used hyperventilation between holds, StatiQ uses calm breathing. The effect of this variant has not been tested in a study. Track your last hold every session. SAFETY – READ BEFORE USE - Dry training only, lying down or sitting. Never in or near water, never standing, never while driving. - Breath-holding can cause loss of consciousness. Do not train alone if you are unsure, stop at the first sign of discomfort, and do not use the app if you have a heart, lung or neurological condition, are pregnant, or have been advised against breath-hold exercise. - StatiQ is not a medical device. All values are informational only and not suitable for diagnosis, treatment or prevention of any condition. SpO2 is the last value the watch reports and may be minutes old.
