CycleBridge turns your Garmin watch into a focused cycling computer: one big number you can read at speed, and the rest of the ride a button-press away. RECORDS A REAL RIDE Start with ENTER and CycleBridge records a standard FIT activity — the same recording Garmin's own apps make, saved to your watch and synced to Garmin Connect like any other ride. Pause, resume, save or discard with the buttons you already use. PAGES BUILT FOR A ROUND SCREEN Swipe through as many pages as you want turned on: • Main page — one hero metric, big, with three supporting values underneath. You choose whether the hero is speed, distance, heart rate or elapsed time. • Averages — average speed leading, with distance, time and heart rate below. • All data — six values at once in a 2x3 grid, for reading the whole ride in a glance. • Climb profile — the last 30 minutes of altitude, plotted, plus total elevation gain. • Splits — the kilometre you are riding now over the last three you finished, each with its time, average speed and average heart rate. • Heart rate zones — the zone you are in right now, over a bar per zone scaled by the time you have spent there. Zones come from your own Garmin user profile, so they mean what they already mean to you. Every page except the first two can be switched off if you would rather swipe less. DISTANCE ALERTS Set an alert every N kilometres, with or without vibration. Set it to 0 and it stays quiet. HOW THE RIDE FELT After you save, CycleBridge asks two quick questions on a circular dial: how hard it was (0-10 RPE) and how it felt (1-5). Both are written into the FIT file as developer fields, so they travel with the activity instead of living in a separate app. Pressing BACK on either dial still saves the ride — you confirmed the save a step earlier, and CycleBridge will not quietly throw it away. SETTINGS WHERE YOU EXPECT THEM Which metric is the hero, the distance alert and its vibration, and which pages exist are all edited in Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express. Page changes take effect the next time you open the app. WORKS ON ITS OWN, AND WITH YOUR PHONE CycleBridge also broadcasts a live snapshot of the ride — speed, distance, heart rate, elapsed time, altitude, climb and position — once a second over Bluetooth to a CycleBridge phone app on your own phone, so the phone can act as a bar-mounted second screen. That phone app is still in development; the watch app is complete without it, and nothing about the ride depends on a phone being there. PRIVACY No account, no sign-up, no developer server. Ride data goes to your Garmin Connect activity and, while a ride runs, to your own paired phone. Nowhere else. COMPATIBILITY Every round-screen Garmin watch on Connect IQ 3.4 or newer: Forerunner 165 to 970, fenix 6, 7, 8 and E, epix (Gen 2), Venu 2 to 4, vivoactive 5 and 6, Enduro, MARQ, Descent, D2, Approach and Instinct 3 AMOLED. Square-screen and Instinct MIP models are not supported.
