Description

Wind, rain and daylight for your round, on any watch face. Golf Weather Legacy appears in the watch's glance list; it is not built into Garmin's golf activity (Connect IQ does not allow adding to it). Made specifically for Connect IQ 3.x watches with glances: fēnix 6 series, first-generation MARQ (Golfer included), Enduro, Descent Mk2 and Forerunner 245, 745, 945 and 55. On a newer watch, get Golf Weather instead: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/5b073308-47ba-4188-bada-62d556890563 Get to the course knowing whether it's playable: press up or down from any watch face and see it in a second. Open it to know whether you have time for 18 holes or only 9, and how much further or shorter the ball will fly today. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT • You know your last tee time, for 18 and for 9 holes, from your pace and the sunset at your location: so you don't finish in the dark. • Play today's air: ball carry, from temperature and your watch's barometer. • Free at launch; after that, 2.49 USD, paid once (Garmin will ask you to buy it to keep using it). No subscription, no account, no phone app beyond Garmin Connect. • Easy on battery and privacy: no internet, no background running, no GPS, and no data leaves the watch. IN THE GLANCE • A traffic light: green (playable), amber (caution), red (not advised or storm), grey at night • Wind arrow pointing where the wind blows, with speed and direction • Rain chance over the next 3 hours and daylight left (sunrise time at night) OPEN IT (4 pages) • Summary: big wind arrow, temperature, ball carry, rain in 3 h and daylight • Wind: the next 4 hours, with the windiest hour highlighted • Rain: hourly bars for the next 6 hours against your threshold • Daylight: countdown to sunset and last tee time for 18 and 9 holes Last tee = sunset + twilight margin − round length (9 holes: your pace, 125 min by default; 18: twice that + 10 min). SETTINGS (from Garmin Connect) • Wind unit and Temperature: Automatic follows the watch • Wind arrow: where the wind blows to (default) or where it comes from • Minutes per 9 holes (90-180) and Twilight margin, min (0-30) • Wind amber from, km/h (5-60) and Wind red above, km/h (5-60) • Rain amber from, % (10-90) and Rain red above, % (10-90) NOTES AND LIMITS • The weather is Garmin's, synced from your phone about once an hour. The app makes no network requests: without your phone nearby the data gets old, and the glance says "Updated N h ago". • On the watch it's called "Golf Weather". • The glance takes sunrise and sunset from the watch; without them (e.g. no recent sync) daylight shows "--" and the glance can't tell it's night. • Wind gusts are not shown: Garmin's weather does not provide them. • The arrow is relative to north (up = north), not to the direction you face. • Ball carry is an estimate from air density alone, capped at ±8 %: no humidity, wind or swing. Pressure comes from the watch's barometer; "~" means there was none and only temperature counts, as always on the Forerunner 55, 245 and 245 Music (no barometer). • Forerunner 55 (8 colours): amber looks yellow and the night light white. On small screens like the Forerunner 55's, the Summary may drop the temperature to fit a long label. Golf Caddie, our golf watch face for newer watches, uses the same sunset and ball-carry calculation: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/94b3584f-3a38-4d5d-92a5-fc91eaeb7296 Rain cloud icon: "cloud-rain-alt" from Dazzle Line Icons by Dazzle UI (SVG Repo) - CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), redrawn as a vector outline.
