Description

Twice a year, the point where the Sun rises stops its slow drift along the horizon, seems to hold still for a few days, and turns back. That turning point is the solstice, from Latin words meaning "the Sun stands still." Solstice Ion pairs your choice of Classic Earth or Holo Contour with day/night shading, subtle city lights, solar accents, and an icy digital clock. It cannot make the Sun stand still, but it shows you where your day stands. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY Solstice Ion Trial is a free, separate download. It runs for 3 days (72 hours from first use), with no automatic charge: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/f3c15062-f034-42cb-8473-3223769a548b AT A GLANCE - Classic Earth imagery or the optional Holo Contour globe: saturated blue coastlines, a wire grid, and an optional location target. - A daily solar clock ring, sunrise, sunset, and approximate moon phase. - Current temperature, daily high and low, and weather condition icons. - Battery level and notification count. THREE FIELDS, EIGHT CHOICES Three customizable lower fields show heart rate, resting heart rate, steps, Body Battery, stress, calories, floors, or active minutes. Hold a lower field to cycle its metric. Weather detail in phone and watch settings selects Conditions or Location. A custom location label is optional. MAKE IT YOURS - Choose Classic Earth (default) or Holo Contour in Globe style. Both keep the same location view, live day/night boundary, sun ring, and wake rotation. - Eight time colors and eight accent colors. - Optional seconds, glow, and a brief optional wake animation. - Cached-weather check intervals of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, or two hours. - Hold the weather area to open Garmin Weather where supported. ALWAYS ON When the watch sleeps, the always-on display takes over: the clock over a 24-hour ring with the sun at the time of day and your daylight arc, plus the date and battery. Holo Contour adds a sparse vector globe; Classic keeps its sun-dial layout. Both are dimmed at bedtime, follow your watch's display settings, and move a few pixels every minute to protect AMOLED screens. GOOD TO KNOW - The globe uses the last available GPS location, a saved location, or weather coordinates as an approximate fallback. It does not track GPS continuously. Earth clouds and city-light imagery are historical, decorative assets, not live satellite observations. The Sun ring is a daily solar clock, not a physical orbital model. - Weather comes from Garmin's cached weather service and depends on available data and connectivity. Missing measurements show dashes. Current temperature is actual temperature, not feels-like. Health values depend on your watch and Garmin data availability. Moon phase is approximate. Compatible with select Garmin watches, including Venu, vívoactive, Forerunner, fēnix, epix, MARQ, Instinct, Descent, D2, and Approach models. See the supported-device list for exact models.
