Description
Tap to log carbs and fluid mid-ride and see at a glance whether you're keeping up with your hourly carb goal.
Description
Log what you eat and drink with one tap on four large buttons, sized for gloved hands on rough roads. FuelField shows how far ahead of or behind your hourly carb goal you are, and warns you when you fall behind.
On the bike
Four big buttons: three snacks and a drink. One tap logs one item; the button flashes and the top bar shows what you logged and your new total.
Top bar: carbs eaten, grams ahead (+) or behind (−) your goal, and fluid drunk. Green when you're on track, red when you're behind.
Wrong button? A red undo button appears for 5 seconds after every tap.
Spotted a mistake later? Tap CARBS or FLUID for edit mode, where one button becomes an undo that steps back through your history.
Pick your goal on the bike: four presets (default 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 g/h).
EAT alert: a tone and a full-screen alert each time you fall another 25 g behind (adjustable).
The goal clock runs on elapsed time, so it keeps counting at red lights and café stops.
Workout carb goal Put a tag like CHO60 in the first step of a structured workout (for example from Intervals.icu), and FuelField sets your goal to 60 g/h when you start it.
Set it up your way (Garmin Connect app → your device → Connect IQ apps → Fuel Field → Settings)
Up to 6 snacks and 2 drinks: name, carbs, sodium, caffeine, and mL per tap.
Your 4 goal presets, the alert step, and tap beeps on or off.
After the ride Carbs, fluid and carb debt are saved to the activity as charts, and totals, per-item counts, sodium and caffeine appear in the activity summary in Garmin Connect.
Setup tips
Add Fuel Field to a data screen with the 1-field layout, so the buttons are big enough to tap.
To get the EAT alert: Activity Profile → Alerts → Connect IQ → Fuel Field.
Fuel Field records 16 Connect IQ data fields to the activity, Garmin's maximum, so another Connect IQ data field that also records data may not be able to save its own fields in the same activity.
Designed for the Edge 840 / 840 Solar.
