Description

Berm records your day at the bike park and splits it on its own into runs, lifts, shuttles, climbs and breaks. Every second it reads the barometer, the GPS speed and your heart rate and works out from the vertical speed what you are doing. Only descents count as runs: the chairlift, the gondola, the shuttle van and pedalling back up are recognised as the way up and never show up as a ride. Berm also knows your trails. It recognises the same line by where it starts, where it ends and the point halfway down, so two trails from the same lift stay apart. After every run you see your time on that trail against your best, and a new personal best gets its own alert. During a run on a known trail your best time is on screen to race against. Over the day Berm tracks your pace per run, corrected for how steep each trail is, so you can see when your legs start to fade. WHAT IT DOES - Automatic run detection from barometer and GPS; lift, shuttle and pedalling up are told apart and never counted as runs - Trails with best times: the same line is recognised by start, middle and end point, up to 26 trails from A to Z, best time, date and number of runs - After each run: your time on that trail against your best, with an alert for a new personal best - Live screens for run, lift, shuttle, climb, waiting and break; on a known trail the best time to beat - Per run: vertical drop, distance, time, top and average speed, average gradient with IMBA colour, steepest pitch, corners, heart rate, how you got up and how long you waited - Day: runs, vertical, top speed, vertical per hour, time on the bike versus going up, waiting and break, average lift wait - Fatigue trend: pace per run over the day, corrected for gradient, with a warning when you slow down at the same effort - Last lift planner: set the closing time and Berm tells you how many runs you still have time for, based on your own cycle today, with alerts at 30 and 10 minutes - Elevation profile, lifetime records, park trips and season total - Records the session as a mountain bike activity in Garmin Connect (downhill, enduro or e-MTB) with a lap per run and per climb - Glance with today's runs and vertical WHAT IT NEEDS - A watch with a barometric altimeter and GPS - GPS on during the session; heart rate is optional - Trail recognition needs a GPS fix at the start and end of the run
