Description

Fishing from the bow of a bass boat, on your wrist. You look out over the water the way a bass game always has: weed beds, lily pads, sunken timber and rock piles between you and the far bank, dark shapes moving under them, and the yellow ring of your cast waiting on the water. Pick a spot, flick your wrist, work the lure back, and when the line goes heavy — set the hook and fight it. A tournament day takes ten minutes. A good fish takes one. ### Cast with your wrist On watches with a gyroscope you cast like you would with a rod: press SELECT, then snap your wrist. The harder the flick, the further it goes, and a half-hearted one lands short. Watches without a gyroscope use the accelerometer, and every watch can switch to the classic power meter — stop it on the mark and the lure lands where you aimed. Cast past the water and you are in the trees. Land it on a fish's head and it is gone. ### Every lure fishes differently Eight lures, and each one wants its own retrieve. A worm wants to sit still between pulls, a spinner and a crankbait want a steady reel, a popper and a jig want to be twitched. Each one also moves the odds of WHICH fish comes for it — the pike wants a spoon, the catfish wants live bait, the trophy bass wants a swimbait. Read the water, pick the cover, pick the lure. ### The fight is the game A hooked fish runs, rests, charges the boat and jumps. The REEL dial shows the tension: blue is slack, yellow is working the fish, red is the drag slipping and the line about to go. Reel while it rests, ease off when it jumps, reel fast when it comes at you, and steer the rod against every run — tilt the watch, or use UP and DOWN. Side pressure tires a fish twice as fast. Too little tension and it spits the hook; too much and the line snaps. ### Six waters, thirty-six species Mirror Lake, River Bend, the Salt Flats, the Frozen North, the Coral Reef and the Abyss — from bluegill and largemouth bass to walleye, redfish, lake trout, grouper, marlin and things that should not live that deep. Six species to a water, five sizes from runt to legendary. Every new water opens with the total weight you have landed over your career. ### Your watch changes the bite Fish 2 reads the real world around you, with nothing extra to install: - **Time of day** — dawn and dusk are prime time, the midday sun slows the bite, and catfish and walleye come out at night - **Season** — spring fish are heavier, autumn fish feed harder - **Barometer** — a falling pressure brings the fish on and the big ones up, a rising one slows them down - **Weather** from your phone — overcast and rain are good fishing, and a storm front is the best of all - **Temperature** — warm-water and cold-water species really do prefer it Watches without a sensor simply fish neutral conditions. The Conditions page in the Tackle Box tells you what is feeding right now. The Daily Tournament always fishes neutral conditions, so everybody gets the same day. ### Tackle you earn, never buy Every fish pays coins, and coins buy tackle in the Tackle Box: the eight lures, three lines (mono, fluorocarbon that fish see less, braid that will not break) and three reels (spinning, a fast baitcaster, and a trophy reel with the drag for the big ones). There is no way to spend real money in the game. On top of that, equipment you earn: a carbon rod for experience, a fish finder that marks the giants under the water, a landing net that saves one snapped line a trip, and the full pro tour kit, for daily streaks of three, seven and fourteen days; circle hooks for landing a giant, a silk drag for a heavy five-fish limit, and a trophy wall for an epic species. None of them changes the weight of a fish, and the boards are weight. ### Keepnet Before you put the watch down, set a keepnet at one of your waters. It fills with a fish every forty minutes, up to six, even with the app closed, and the main menu tells you when they are waiting.
