Description

KnotNow: Easy-to-read sailing app. High-contrast race timer, speed & bearings. Built for water. Built for sailors, wing foilers, and windsurfers who need data that works in the real world. KnotNow is designed around one rule: glanceable on the water. Big numbers, high-contrast type, and zero clutter. Every metric has its own dedicated screen, making it easy to read mid-session and easy to use with gloves. PRE-START SETUP • Set Wind — point the watch to the wind to set wind direction. • Dial it in — set wind speed with the buttons, and pick your display units (knots, km/h, or mph). • Start — a big button to remind you to begin recording. ON THE WATER • Metrics — current and max speed, distance, and elapsed time. • Laps — track lap speed, lap max, and lap distance. • Bearing — full-face compass rose with a heading. • GPS-lock chip — always know your fix quality at a glance. THE RACE TIMER • 5-minute or 3-minute sequences with haptic cues (10 s, 5 s, and GO). • One-button operation: short-press to nudge to the nearest minute, long-press to start and stop. • Auto-lap at 0:00 to keep your race start clean in your activity file. POST-SESSION ANALYSIS • Summary — immediate review of total distance, time, max/avg speed, and lap count. • Ecosystem ready — saves native FIT files to Garmin Connect, and straight through to KnotNow's sailing analysis on the web (VMG, tack analysis, personal bests). Strava, TrainingPeaks, and anything else Garmin-compatible also work. Built by sailors, for sailors. Experience the most readable sailing app on the IQ Store.

What is new

KnotNow v1.1.3 Updates for Instinct Devices (smaller screens). Added LiveTrack support. KnotNow v1.1.2 Changed lap button - bottom right action. 1.0.2 — Fenix 5 support 1.0.3 — New Save flow 1.0.4 — Launcher icon updated so it's readable on both dark and light backgrounds. 1.05 — Sailing activity in Garmin Connect, New Extra screen. Race-start countdown now shows the full final 10 seconds as big numbers. 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 Sessions from Fenix 5 / CIQ 2.4 again save as Sailing in Garmin Connect (correct icon, nautical miles, LiveTrack) after a regression where save was called without stopping the recording session first. v1.0.8 Improved Point-to-Wind setup screen: arrow resized/repositioned and wind direction value centered for clearer readability. Enhanced Bearing screen KnotNow v1.0.9 Added Auto Lap support with a default distance of 2.0 nautical miles (approx. 3.7 km), so lap stats update automatically during sessions. Improved speed readout precision to 1 decimal place. Updated Bearing screen to a heading-up style: the compass dial now rotates with movement orientation, cardinal points (N/E/S/W) rotate accordingly. KnotNow v1.1.0 (stability hotfix) Fixed an issue where auto-lap behavior could destabilize sessions on some devices. Auto-lap remains enabled at 2.0 nm, and is now non-destructive (in-app lap stats only). Manual lap marking remains available as normal. KnotNow v1.1.1 Race timer on touchscreen watches (e.g. Venu) • On the race countdown screen, a quick tap does the “safe” actions: pick 5 or 3 minutes before you start, or nudge the timer while it’s running. • Press and hold on the screen to start the countdown, or to stop it if you tapped start by accident — the same idea as holding the start button on watches that have extra buttons. Laps & Dashboard screen • Lap handling is a bit gentler. • When showing four main numbers - they are spaced a little wider. • Added a short on-screen “LAP” confirmation.
