Description

Tennis scorekeeper for Instinct 2 and 100+ Garmin watches: singles and doubles, tie-breaks, match tie-break to 10, No-Ad and short sets, with who serves and from which side, saved as a Tennis activity. Free, with no ads and nothing to buy. THE FORMAT YOU ACTUALLY PLAY - Best of 3 or best of 5 sets, one set, or games only. Sets to 6 with a tie-break at 6-6, or advantage sets. - 2 sets and a match tie-break to 10 (also called a super tie-break or champions tie-break) instead of the third set, the usual league format. - A final-set tie-break to 10 at 6-6, as at the Grand Slams. - Short sets to 4, with a tie-break at 4-4. - Advantage or No-Ad scoring. On a No-Ad deciding point the screen tells you who chooses the side. - The app remembers your last setup: press Play, say who serves first, and you play. THE SCORE, THE SERVER AND THE SIDE - One press per point: UP for you, DOWN for them (on Venu, vivoactive, Approach and D2 Air: START and BACK, or a tap on the top or bottom half). The app moves the points, games, sets and the serve. - The screen shows who serves and from which side: "YOU R", "THEY L". In doubles it shows "YOU" or "PARTNER" in the serving order of the rules; you pick your pair's first server when the match starts (and can pick again for each new set from the menu). - Tie-breaks serve in the right order (one point, then two each) and the next set starts with the right server. - Change ends: a buzz after the first game and every odd game of a set, and every 6 points in a tie-break, with a "CHANGE ENDS" banner. - Set point and match point: a banner and a buzz. - Made a mistake? Undo goes back through the whole match, even past the end of a game or set, and the menu shows the score it goes back to. - Touch scoring can be switched off in the menu, so a wet screen never adds a point. It starts off on watches with five buttons. SAVED AS TENNIS The match is saved as a Tennis activity with time, heart rate, calories and GPS distance. Every set is a lap, and the final score ("6-4 3-6 [10-8]", a tie-break set as "7-6(5)") is saved with the activity. GPS distance is on by default; turn it off in the setup for indoor courts. Indoors without a GPS signal the match starts at once. ALWAYS A WAY OUT BACK opens the match menu (hold BACK on Venu, vivoactive, Approach and D2 Air): Undo point, Resume, Restart match, Save or Discard; Next set after a set, New match after the match. Save, Discard and Restart ask again. Nothing starts the next set until you press START. Long matches save: tested with a full best-of-5 match. MADE FOR INSTINCT 2 Big digits on the Instinct 2, 2S and 2X screens, with the games and the clock in the round window.
