Description
Real chess, designed for a watch screen. Play an AI with ten levels —from one that blunders like a beginner (about 450 Elo) to one that challenges club players (about 1900 Elo)—, play a friend on the same watch, or solve mate puzzles.
How to play:
- Touchscreen: tap a piece, then tap where it goes. Dots show its legal moves. If your finger lands slightly off, the nearest legal square is taken.
- Buttons: UP/DOWN choose a piece, START picks it, UP/DOWN choose the square and START moves. It works the same on watches without a touchscreen.
What's inside:
- 10 AI levels with an approximate Elo, measured against a reference engine. The AI thinks in the background with a progress ring, and the watch vibrates when it has moved.
- Opening book: the AI varies its openings and the screen tells you which opening is on the board (Ruy Lopez, Sicilian Najdorf, Queen's Gambit…).
- 60 mate-in-1, mate-in-2 and mate-in-3 puzzles taken from real games and checked one by one.
- Every rule: castling, en passant, promotion to any piece, checkmate, stalemate, threefold repetition, 50-move rule and insufficient material.
- Undo, hint, flip board, offer a draw and resign.
- Your game is saved after every move: leave whenever you want and continue later.
- Shaded pieces, six board themes, coordinates, move animation, captured pieces and material balance on the sides, optional evaluation bar.
- Win/draw/loss statistics per level.
Notes: on 64-colour (MIP) screens pieces and boards use flat colours. The AI thinks faster on newer watches; at high levels it can take a few seconds per move.
