Description
Box breathing on your wrist, guided entirely by vibration, free and unlimited. No
session limit, no countdown to a paywall, no account.
Set the phase length anywhere from 3 to 8 seconds and up to 60 rounds. Every phase is
carried by a distinct vibration - the inhale cue rises, the exhale cue falls, and the
corners feel different from both - so you can practise with the screen off and your eyes
closed. Live heart rate runs through the whole session.
Each session saves to Garmin Connect as a proper breathwork activity, recorded as
meditation with a breathing sub-sport, so your summary fits what you did instead of
showing average speed and distance. One lap per round, with graphs of breathing phase,
breath rate, variability and coherence.
That is the free app, in full, for as long as you want it. It is not a trial.
WHAT IS IN THE FULL APP
Vytera Breath adds the other seven protocols, and they are the ones built for athletes:
- Cyclic hyperventilation with breath retention
- CO2 tolerance table
- Resonance breathing, 4.5 to 7 breaths a minute
- Physiological sigh burst
- Extended-exhale downregulation
- Pre-race arousal control
- A custom builder
With them come the things a breath-hold practice needs: holds that can end on your own
heart-rate rise rather than on a number you picked beforehand, retention targets drawn
from your last five sessions that only step up after calm ones, and a plain-language
reading of how well you came back down.

One purchase, no subscription, no in-app purchases. Your box-breathing settings and
history stay on this watch and are not carried across, so start the full app fresh.
SAFETY
This app is a training tool, not medical advice, and it does not diagnose or treat
anything.
Box breathing is among the gentlest protocols there is, and it is still breathwork. Sit
or lie down rather than standing, and never practise while driving or operating anything.
Speak to a doctor first if you are pregnant, or if you have a cardiovascular condition,
high or low blood pressure, a history of fainting, epilepsy or any seizure disorder, a
respiratory condition including asthma or COPD, a history of stroke or aneurysm, or if
you are recovering from surgery.
Stop immediately if you feel faint, unwell, numb, or in pain at any point. Dizziness and
tingling in the hands and face are expected effects of low carbon dioxide and pass.
Losing consciousness is not an expected effect: if it happens, stop and seek medical
advice before practising again.
NO PHONE NEEDED
Everything runs on the watch. No account, no cloud, no companion app, no network access
of any kind. Nothing leaves your watch except the activity you save, which goes to your
own Garmin Connect account by Garmin's own sync.
Box breathing is free, unlimited, and complete. The other seven protocols are in Vytera
Breath. Search on the store
