Description
A dot-matrix instrument on a black screen: every number, letter, icon and line on the face is built from square pixels on one fixed grid, like an old LED display.
The time fills the middle in large seven-segment digits, each segment a field of small square dots. The unlit segments stay faintly visible behind the lit ones, the way they do on a real segment display. The spaces between lit dots glow softly, so the digits read bright while the dots still show; turn the glow down or off for plain dots, or switch the segments to solid blocks.
Across the top sit three readings, each with a pixel icon and a label: calories, steps and heart rate by default. Each of the three can be changed to distance, active minutes or floors climbed. A Bluetooth mark above them shows whether your phone is connected.
Under them runs an information row. On the left, a weather icon with the current temperature, and the day's low and high beneath. In the middle, the date with the weekday under it. On the right, body battery in large type with stress beneath. A strip of seven bars spans the face below, one for each day of the week, with today lit green.
Below the time is a world map drawn dot by dot from real coastline data, with a crosshair at the location of your last weather report. Behind it, a faint latitude and longitude grid runs across the whole dial, evenly spaced and centred under the time. If you like, a single green dot can blink on a random patch of land, on for a second and off for a second. A battery line runs from edge to edge along the bottom, with the percentage beneath it.
Always-on keeps the grid, the map, the dotted time and the date, dimmed so the display stays lit instead of blanking after a few seconds.
