A running watch face built around the two numbers that matter: what you can run today, and what the day has left in it. The time is stacked rather than strung out, hours over minutes, so the minutes carry the accent colour and stay readable at arm's length in daylight. Under them your body battery is drawn as a filled curve across the whole day rather than a single number, so you can see the shape of how the day has gone. Around the outside, a sixty segment ring runs the full circle as the watch battery drains. EVERY READOUT IS YOURS All eight values down the sides are yours to choose, from over twenty options: body battery, stress, heart rate, resting heart rate, recovery time, VO2 max, pulse ox, respiration, steps, step goal, distance, calories, floors, intensity minutes, altitude, sunrise, sunset, temperature, UV index, notifications, battery, battery in days and a second time zone. Set them in Garmin Connect or on the watch itself. SET IT UP ON THE WATCH On fenix 8, Forerunner 170 and newer watches, pick Customise under this face in the watch face list. You get your accent colour, your value colour and any data your watch offers in each of the ten positions, the race row included. Every other watch has the same choices in the Connect IQ app and in the watch face menu on the watch. EIGHT ACCENT COLOURS Signal green, lava, ice, magenta, solar, ember, sky and steel. The colour is not just the digits: it carries through the ring, the icons, the body battery curve and the always on display, so the face is recoloured rather than tinted. Every shade is picked from Garmin's 64 colour palette, so it stays clean on memory in pixel screens instead of dithering. The values have their own colour setting. CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCES The bottom line shows race predictions from Garmin's own predictor. Pick the pair you care about: 5K and 10K, 10K and half, half and marathon, or 5K and marathon. Leave it on Auto and the face reads your weekly running volume and picks for you. RUNNER OR CYCLIST Not everybody runs. The bottom line checks whether you have logged more running or more cycling this week, and a cyclist gets cycling VO2 max, weekly distance and recovery time instead of race predictions. If there is no prediction to show yet it falls back to VO2 max, recovery and intensity minutes rather than printing dashes. It is the thing you plan for and rarely manage, and it is what this face is pointed at: what you can run today, and whether you have anything left. ALWAYS ON The always on display is designed separately rather than dimmed. The hours and minutes stay at the same size and the same position as the full face, so nothing jumps when the screen dims, drawn in a thin cut of the same typeface at under four percent of the pixels lit. On AMOLED it shifts every minute to look after the screen. FOLLOWS YOUR WATCH Miles or kilometres, 12 or 24 hour time, Celsius or Fahrenheit: the face reads your watch and changes the moment you do. Night mode dims it to red, and wheelchair mode shows pushes instead of steps. DEVICES Supported on 115 devices, including fenix, Forerunner, Venu, Instinct, epix, vivoactive, Descent, MARQ, tactix, quatix, Enduro and Approach.
