Description

A digital clock and a step counter set into a mountain landscape that changes with the day. By day the face shows a blue sky over a range of snow-capped peaks, with mist in the valleys, pine forests and a few birds. After sunset the same mountains stand under a navy sky with stars and the moon, the snow lit cold. The scene switches at real sunrise and sunset for your location, or you can keep it on day or night. The time sits large across the sky in leaning seven-segment digits, the hour in white and the minutes in your chosen colour, with the unlit segments faintly visible the way a real display shows them. The weekday and date sit above it, and today's step count with a running shoe below. Time follows the watch's own 12/24-hour setting. The edge of the dial is the step goal: a thin ring of fifty cells that lights up clockwise as the day's steps come in, from 0% at the lower left to 100% at the lower right, with a mark every ten percent. The cells brighten towards the goal and the leading one is lit hotter than the rest, and the ring stays translucent so the landscape shows through it. Over the mountains, this week is drawn as a flight of stairs, one step per day from the first day of the week to today. A step is lit in your colour when that day reached its goal, a dashed line marks the goal, today's letter is picked out, and the days still to come wait as faint stubs. Under it sit heart rate, body battery, and the current temperature with a weather glyph - sun, moon, or either behind cloud. The watch battery sits at the foot of the dial and only takes a colour when it is charging or low. Every word and number on the face carries a soft black shadow, so it reads on the bright day sky as well as on the dark mountains. Always-on is a separate, dimmed frame on black: the time, the date, today's steps, the step ring and the week, each exactly where it sits when the watch is awake, so nothing jumps when you raise your wrist. It is kept within the display brightness limit so it stays lit instead of blanking. SETTINGS for Ember Accent colour: Ember, Forest, Lake, Berry, Golden, Stone, Copper, Bronze, Walnut or Jade. Each comes in two strengths, a deeper one for the daylight sky and a lighter one for the night, so it stays readable on both. Background: day and night following sunrise and sunset, always day, or always night. Week starts on: Monday or Sunday. Temperature units: follow the watch, Celsius or Fahrenheit. Weather data always arrives in Celsius whatever the watch is set to, so this one cannot be derived.
