Record foiling sessions with GPS and send them to your private Foil Run account through your connected phone. Choose Wing, Parawing, Paddle, Kite or Other. Your selection continues into recording after a short safety check, without a second Start. Confirm Stop with two physical button presses. The watch saves an ordinary Garmin FIT activity and automatically sends its own track copy to Foil Run for analysis. SETUP, ONCE, AT HOME Open Foil Run on the watch and Garmin Connect on your phone. An unpaired watch sends the sign-in request automatically. Open the Garmin Connect notification, sign in to Foil Run, match the four characters and tap Connect Garmin. If the notification is delayed, keep Garmin Connect open and press Send again on the watch. Setup returns to the activity picker when connected. Existing pairings and privacy choices stay intact. Disconnect the watch any time from Account, Connected devices on foil.run. GPS FIRST Start does not wait for the phone. Stop saves before upload. Saved GPS tracks synchronize automatically while Foil Run stays open, including on the menu and Account screens. Upload progress is shown on the menu and saved-ride screens. Checking a ride does not restart its transfer. Uploaded means its GPS track reached Foil Run; remaining rides continue automatically. Without a connection, the watch retains the copy for retry. Reopening the app resumes transfer. Keep the watch app open until synchronization finishes. Two separate slots can hold saved rides while offline, within the watch’s shared storage budget. If both are occupied or safe storage cannot be established, Start shows Not recording. Existing rides stay selectable; an empty list offers Try Start again. Upload or deliberately discard a saved watch copy before another ride when both slots are occupied. Discard requires two physical presses. Unknown or unreadable data stays protected. The app's GPS store is bounded. On Forerunner 245 its empty-store allowance is about 26 minutes; base fenix 6/6S about 60 minutes. Saved rides reduce the next allowance. At the safe limit the Foil Run GPS copy stops growing, while the independent Garmin FIT activity continues until you press Stop. The available GPS portion uploads automatically and is marked Partial recording in Foil Run. Unsaved points can be lost on a crash or battery failure; no duration or battery-life guarantee is offered. OPTIONAL DATA Heart-rate and raw-motion transfer are optional account choices, initially off. Review them in Account, Heart rate & motion uploads on foil.run. GPS and FIT continue without them. Only supported watches with enough memory capture raw motion. New rides skip motion while an older motion upload waits. Captured older motion stays pending. Supported watches request 10 Hz acceleration and, where available, 20 Hz gyro; actual rate depends on the device. Vivoactive 5 has acceleration only. Small or older watches keep GPS and FIT without raw motion. Motion transfer can take over an hour by Bluetooth. GOOD TO KNOW Touch cannot stop a recording. Press the top button twice to stop and save; Back after the first press continues. There is no pause, live wind or VMG on the watch. Short or likely land recordings wait in the Foil Run Logbook for Keep or Remove. Importing the same activity separately from a FIT file can create a duplicate. EARLY RELEASE Automated tests and compilation cover shared logic, but most models have not been tested physically and on-water performance is still being evaluated. Report problems at foil.run/support. A free Foil Run account, Garmin Connect and a connected phone are required.

Clearer feedback when a recording is stopped before enough GPS points are collected. The watch now shows “No GPS points” or “Not enough GPS” instead of an ineffective Retry or indefinite upload wait. Existing pairings, privacy choices and saved rides are preserved. Normal recording and upload behavior is unchanged.
