Payment is handled in-app; there is no subscription and no recurring charge. --- HANDS THAT PASS IN FRONT --- The hands are drawn last, on top of everything else, so they never disappear behind the time capsule on their way round. Each one carries a black silhouette slightly wider than the hand itself, so where it crosses the white numerals both stay readable. Prefer it without? "Digital only" is one of the four styles. --- FOUR STYLES --- Hybrid hands plus digital time, watch's own format Digital only no hands Hybrid / 12 hour forced 12-hour Hybrid / 24 hour forced 24-hour --- FOUR DATA POSITIONS --- Two large dials above the capsule, two smaller readouts below it. Each one is yours to set: Battery, Steps, Heart rate, Calories, Floors climbed, Body Battery, Stress, SpO2, Temperature. Through the face's own settings menu there are four more - Distance, Humidity, Step goal %, and empty. Battery, Body Battery, Stress, SpO2 and step progress draw a sweep gauge around the dial as well as the number. Above the dials sit a weather icon and the current temperature. The icon covers twelve conditions and has its own night variants, so a clear night does not show a sun. --- COLOURS --- Eight accent colours - Mint, Ice Blue, Violet, Champagne Gold, Rose, Lime, White, Copper. The colour runs through the gauges, the weekday and the lume down the centre of each hand, while the chrome of the hands keeps its own shading - so the whole face stays in one key without going flat. The digital time takes its own colour from five choices, so you can keep the time white while the accents run warm, or match them. --- HOW YOU CHANGE IT --- On fenix 8, fenix 9, fenix 8 Pro, fenix 9 Pro, D2 Mach 2, D2 Mach 2 Pro, Forerunner 570, Forerunner 970 and venu 4 you edit it from the watch itself: hold the screen on the watch face, tap Edit, and set the style, the colours and each data position in Garmin's own editor. On Approach S70, Descent Mk3, epix Pro 51mm (and D2 Mach 1 Pro and tactix 7 AMOLED) and Forerunner 965 that editor does not exist. There the face carries its own settings menu with every option in it, reached from the watch face settings in Garmin Connect or on the watch. Units and a custom step goal are in the settings menu on every watch. --- ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY --- On AMOLED watches the always-on screen keeps the digital time only, in grey, with every second row of pixels switched off and the whole block shifted a few pixels each minute to protect the panel. --- GOOD TO KNOW --- Temperature and the weather icon come from your watch's weather, so they need a recent phone sync. Without it the temperature reads "--". Heart rate shows the live reading while the screen is awake. Body Battery, Stress and SpO2 depend on your watch having those sensors and recent readings; anything unavailable reads "--" rather than showing a stale number. This is watch-face software, not a physical watch.
