Description
A currency converter that knows where you are. Cross a border and the local currency is already there — no scrolling through 150 currencies, no picking a pair. Set your home currency once and the watch does the rest.
HOW IT WORKS
• Your home currency is set once in Garmin Connect or on the watch (e.g. UAH, USD, EUR)
• The local currency comes from GPS: Turkey shows lira, Japan shows yen, France shows euro
• UP/DOWN (or swipe) steps the amount: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100…; it starts around 10 dollars' worth of the local currency
• START (or the swap button) swaps the direction: a price tag in local money, or your money in local terms
• Tap a currency to pick another from the list — or Auto (GPS) to go back
• MENU: refresh rates and location, pick currencies
• Glance: today's rate for where you are, right in the glance list
OFFLINE AND HONEST
Rates are updated daily and kept on the watch, so the app works without a connection. The screen always shows the date of the rate it is using, and says "offline" when a refresh failed — you always know how fresh the number is.
Your location never leaves the watch: the country is looked up from a map built into the app, not sent to any server.
PRO
Pro adds an exact amount, typed on a number pad, your own rate — the one the exchange office actually gives, saved per currency pair and one tap away from the market rate — and the result in a second home currency as well. Choose Get Pro to open the payment page on your phone (tap it three times for a QR code to scan instead); after paying, paste the licence key you are shown into the app settings in Garmin Connect (License Key).
What is new
Knows which country you're in and converts its currency to yours.
