Description
A coat of arms that grows with your week: the more active minutes you collect over the last seven days, the more of the emblem you earn.
Please know what you are getting: the full emblem in the screenshots is earned, not given. After a quiet week the face shows only the round badge, with nothing around it, and the coat of arms builds up rank by rank as you move - the top rank takes 450 active minutes in seven days. The screenshots show the higher ranks; the evolution image shows every step from the first to the last.
The emblem fills the top of the face. At its heart is a round badge - a sprinter against a striped sunset over mountains, ringed by twelve sports from cycling and swimming to skiing and yoga. Around it waits a full coat of arms: a sunburst, a pair of wings, a laurel wreath, a ribbon and a crown. There are eight ranks, from Spark to Immortal. At the first the badge stands alone. At the second the ornaments appear, drawn only as fine engraved lines. From then on each rank fills one more part with colour - the laurel, the ribbon, the crown, the wings, the sunburst - while the parts still to come appear as sketches behind them, and the laurel turns from pale to deep green as you climb. At the top rank a warm glow spreads behind the whole emblem and sparkles catch the crown. Every layer casts its own shadow, so the emblem reads as something built up, not printed.
The count is rolling: today and the six days before it, with vigorous minutes counting double. Under the emblem a line tells you how many active minutes the next rank takes, or, when the day about to drop out of the week would cost you your rank, how many you need to keep it. Below that is your week's total.
The time reads in a band across the bottom of the face, running from edge to edge. In it stand three vertical drums side by side - hours, minutes, seconds - each printed with its numbers level, the one before and the one after showing above and below and rolling away into shade. Across each drum lies a square glass lens, and under it the current value stands large, so the time reads straight across the three lenses. The drums step; nothing sweeps.
When the screen wakes, the three drums spin like a slot machine's reels for half a second and stop one after another, left to right, on the time. A touch and hold on the face spins them again.
Under the band seven small steps show the week day by day, today on the right in the accent colour and the day that drops out tomorrow dimmed. Two readings of your choice sit either side of the emblem, each with its icon. The weekday and date and the battery sit centred at the bottom.
Everything stands on a dark carbon ground, lit softly from the middle, and every number, icon and step casts a soft shadow onto it.
Always-on keeps the whole face - the emblem at your rank, the readings, the week, the date and the hours and minutes on their drums - dimmed on black. It is drawn to stay lit within the display limit instead of blanking after a few seconds.
