The ground keeps coming closer, long cloud banks sweep by again and again, and now and then you plunge straight through a cloud: whiteout, then torn wisps racing past as you drop out of its base. He flies right up to the camera – arms, legs and head alive in the airflow – and every jump ends his way: he dives away for the ground, dives and climbs back up to you, stays close and turns a full 360, or orbits around you. OR PULL THE CHUTE One jump in ten ends with a real opening: pilot chute, line stretch, the snatch, a look up at the canopy as it inflates, and a long glide down with the clouds still passing below. FIVE DROP ZONES Farmland, a rugged coast and forest lakes by day – and New York by night, with traffic streaming through Manhattan and a helicopter sweeping its searchlight below. The drop zones rotate so you never get the same one twice in a row.
