Description

Free, with nothing to unlock. If it helps you find your way, there is a coffee link on the route page. I wear an Instinct 2, and I wanted a map on it. Not tiles, which this screen cannot show legibly and this watch cannot hold: just what you need at a junction. So Waymark draws the route as a bold line, the paths that leave it as short stubs, and the peaks, springs and guideposts along it, turned to the way you walk. Everything heavy is done on a small server when you send the route; the watch only draws. It was worked out within the Instinct's limits, one piece at a time, on walks and trail runs with the watch on my own wrist. How it works: - Make the route on waymark.murmurgram.com: upload a GPX or draw it on the map. Pair the watch once with the code it shows, and press Send. - Fetch it on the watch: menu › Get route, through your phone's Garmin Connect. The watch keeps up to three routes. - Walk it: the map turns with you; the window shows the next junction's arrow; when your direction leaves the route the watch vibrates and shows OFF, and BACK when you are walking it the wrong way. - Numbers screen for runs: time, pace, distance and climb to the next checkpoint, heart rate. - Recording: START records the activity (walk, hike, run or trail run) to Garmin Connect; BACK zooms while recording. - Menu: Orientation (direction of travel or north up), Route, Get route, Forget route, Detail (contour lines on hikes), Activity, Alerts, Stick to route, GPS mode, Pair. Map data: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) for Korea, Japan, the United States (all 50 states and DC), Canada (all provinces and territories), Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Ask for a region at [email protected]. Made for the Instinct 2, 2S, 2X, 3 Solar and E (40/45 mm) and the Descent G1. Privacy: the watch sends its position nowhere; it fetches the route you sent. The route page keeps a route for a week after the watch takes it. Details at waymark.murmurgram.com/help.
