Description

This tire pressure calculator works out the pressure you should actually run, before you ride. Unlike a sensor data field, it needs no extra hardware — it calculates the recommended front and rear pressure from your body weight, your bike and the surface you are riding on. The model is based on Frank Berto's 15 % tire-drop research, the same approach behind the pressure charts used by wheel and tire makers. Front and rear are calculated separately, because the rear wheel carries more of your weight. Functions - Calculates front and rear tire pressure separately, in bar or psi - Stores three rider profiles, so partners and friends keep their own weight - Stores three bike profiles with tire width, rim width, bike weight, tubeless, casing and rim type - Adjusts for surface: smooth asphalt, rough asphalt or gravel - Adjusts for riding position: race or endurance, which changes the front/rear weight split - Applies the hookless rim safety limit and warns when a pressure gets very low - Shows the result in the unit your device is set to — metric shows bar, statute shows psi How to use Open the app, pick the rider, pick the bike, pick the surface, then choose Calculate. The result screen shows front and rear pressure side by side. Everything is reachable by touch or by buttons, so it works on devices without a touchscreen too. Settings Rider names and bike names are set in the Connect IQ app settings on your phone. Weight, tire width, rim width, bike weight, tubeless, casing and hookless can also be changed directly on the device under Bike, Edit bike. Haptic feedback can be switched off in the settings. Supported devices Forerunner 165, 255, 255S, 265, 265S, 965 · vivoactive 5, vivoactive 6 · Edge 530, 540, 830, 840, 1040, 1050 Permissions The app requests no permissions. It has no internet access, uses no sensors and collects no data. Your rider and bike profiles stay on your watch or bike computer. Note The values are well-founded recommendations, not a substitute for the pressure range printed on your tire and rim. Never exceed the lower of the two maximum values.
