Description

An old digital sports watch printed onto a black dial: one pale LCD window across the middle carrying the time in large seven-segment digits, with thin gold lines and small printed readings around it. The time fills the LCD. Every segment of every digit is drawn, so the unlit ones show faintly behind the lit ones the way a real liquid-crystal display does. Across the top of the window runs a row of its own: the distance you have covered today on the left, the date with the year and the weekday in the middle, and the watch's battery on the right. The same segmented digits carry every number on the face. Above the window, a single line holds your steps, altitude and current heart rate, each behind a small printed icon. Above that, this week's activity: one bar per day, filled in proportion to your daily step goal, with the days still to come left unlit and today picked out by its letter. Below the window, body battery runs across the width of the clock in ten rounded cells that widen from left to right, with the percentage at the end. Beneath it, a small round gauge shows how many hours of recovery you have left after your last workout, on a 24-hour scale - an arc that fills and the hours in the middle. A ring of sixty fine markings sits inside a gold outer ring, and while the watch is awake the mark for the current second lights up, so a single bright mark steps round the dial. Two gold lines cross the face from ring to ring, one above the readings and one through the recovery gauge. Always-on keeps the whole face - the rings, the markings, the gold lines, the outline of the display window and every reading - dimmed on a black screen. The window's pale fill is dropped and its digits turn pale on black, in exactly the place they sit when the watch is awake. It is kept within the display brightness limit, so it stays lit instead of blanking after a few seconds. SETTINGS for Vintage Dial tone: bronze, rust, slate or olive. Colours the outer ring, the gold lines, the window's outline, the quarter markings and the recovery gauge. Dial colour: black, espresso, navy, forest or oxblood. The screen behind everything; all dark, so the readings stay clear. Panel colour: grey, olive, amber, ivory or ice LCD. The face of the display window; the faint unlit segments follow the colour you pick. Week starts on: Monday or Sunday. Time format follows the watch's own 12/24-hour setting, and distance and altitude follow its units.
