Description

CLOSED BETA — INVITE ONLY FoilMotion Beta is the early-access build of FoilMotion, for invited testers helping shape upcoming features. Access is code-protected: open the app's settings in Garmin Connect (Connect IQ Store › FoilMotion Beta › Settings), enter the access code you received, and the app unlocks. Don't have a code? Use the public release instead — search the Connect IQ Store for "FoilMotion" to install the standard app, which needs no code. FoilMotion turns your Garmin watch into a dedicated foiling computer. Start a session before you hit the water and FoilMotion records everything that matters across pumpfoil, wingfoil, kitefoil, downwind, wake and surf foiling — then writes it all to a rich activity you can explore in Garmin Connect. WHAT IT TRACKS • Runs — automatic on-foil run detection, with run count, per-run distance and duration • Speed — live speed plus quality-checked top speed for each run and the whole session • Distance — total session distance and distance per run • Pumping — pump count, per-run pump rate and session averages • Glide — your longest glide per run and the distance it carried you • On-foil time — how long you actually spent up on the foil vs. off • Heart rate — average and max, including on-foil heart rate BUILT FOR FOILING • Activity-specific screens tuned for pumpfoil, wind sports and downwind • Clean, glanceable layouts you can read mid-session • Distance and speed units in metric, imperial or nautical — your choice IN GARMIN CONNECT Every session is saved as a full FIT activity with custom charts, lap breakdowns and summary fields, so you can review runs, speed, pumps and on-foil time after every paddle out. Works on a wide range of Garmin watches. Pick your sport, press start, and go ride.

What is new

FoilMotion 0.4.3 - Fix: the app no longer crashes at launch on the Instinct Crossover FoilMotion 0.4.2 - Adjust Sports-Type for Surf and Surffoil FoilMotion 0.4.0 - The Heartrate zone screen shows you now the HR tendency (up/down) FoilMotion 0.3.1 - More accurate power estimates FoilMotion 0.3.0 - A few important bugfixes FoilMotion 0.2.37 - More stable recording on Instinct 2 and Descent G1 - Performance improvements - Instinct 2 / Descent G1: lap and session stats now only in the FoilMotion app instead of Garmin Connect due to memory limitations FoilMotion 0.2.35 - Improved water contact detection FoilMotion 0.2.33 - Improved legibility - New Heartrate screen - Support for Fenix 9 FoilMotion 0.2.31 - Some bugfixes FoilMotion 0.2.30 - Improved accuracy of motion analysis: pump timing now lines up correctly with GPS speed and position. - Better GPS accuracy on water thanks to multi-band satellite positioning (on supported watches). - Fixed speed values showing far too low in Garmin Connect for some activities. - More reliable sensor recording during brief signal dropouts. 0.2.29: Added Power Screen. Remove Arm-Movement from Power calculation. Bugfix: Total pump count only respect pumps on foil 0.2.25: Fixed water detection falsely staying active due to barometric drift. This could end runs too early on the watch and cause companion-app imports to show only one run. Water contact is now detected from a rapid pressure rise instead of an absolute offset from session start.
