Description

Climb higher. Track simply. Your Garmin app for days in the mountains. Alpine Track turns your watch into an alpine GPS altimeter. Start the session when GPS is ready, then swipe through five data pages: • Overview: heart rate, barometer, distance, altitude, time of day and heading • Climb: elevation gain (D+) and loss (D−), vertical speed, elapsed time • Summit: max altitude, 24h high, time above 2500 m • Sky: temperature, sunrise, sunset and the weather already on the watch (where supported) • Navigation: SpO2, latitude, longitude, GPS accuracy The layout adapts to round AMOLED, round MIP, rectangular and Instinct screens. On touch watches, screen taps are ignored during the activity: pause and resume only with the button, so nothing stops by accident in your pocket or glove. Swiping still changes page. To save battery, the screen refreshes every few seconds; the Climb page updates every second. When you end the activity, nothing is saved yet: you see distance, time and D+, the GPS track, and the time spent in each heart rate zone. Then choose Done to save or Delete to discard. Activities are saved as FIT files in Garmin Connect, as mountaineering (hiking on watches without it), with D+, max altitude and time above 2500 m. If the app is closed during a recording, the activity is saved anyway. No account, no ads, no network access: your data stays on your watch and in Garmin Connect. Free.
