Description

A Connect IQ device app that records its own Archery activity: arrow positions on a touch target, heart rate, respiration rate and bow-arm aim movement (X/Y) during each hold, with live form, warm-up and fatigue indicators. _________________________________ CONTROL Screen [Key / gesture] - Action - Before start [UP] - setup: distance, face, wrist, drag precision, invert X/Y - Activity [START] - start / pause (Resume · Report · Save · Discard) - Activity [—] - the target opens by itself (with a buzz) when a release is detected - Activity [LAP] - open the target manually - Activity [UP / DOWN] - main page ↔ last hold (X/Y aim traces) - Report [UP / DOWN] - summary · form by end · hits heat map · aim float · one page per arrow - Report [tap] - zoom ×3 around the hit - Target [touch + drag] - place the hit point - Target [lift finger] - score, hold time and aim path shown, confirmed after 1.5 s - Target [LAP or START] - confirm now; before touching = cancel _________________________________ MAIN PAGE - Status: RAISED (arm up, moving), AIMING (arm up, still), or the phase: WARM-UP, STABLE, FATIGUE - Timer, total, arrows, average, last score - Last end: ACC · GRP · STB · FORM (green/red = better/worse than the end before) - Heart rate, zone, respiration rate, HR zone graph _________________________________ FORM METRICS (0 to 10, like an arrow score) Each part = 10 minus the error in rings (ring = face / 20): - ACC (accuracy): distance of the group centre from the target centre - GRP (gropuping): mean distance of the arrows from their group centre - STB (stability): aim wobble at the target in the last 2 s before release - FORM = (ACC + GRP + STB) / 3 Per end (6 arrows, 3 on the 40 cm face). WARM-UP when FORM rises by 0.4 or more; FATIGUE when it falls by 0.4 or more and is 0.4 below the best end; otherwise STABLE. Not an official archery standard. STB needs the right distance setting. _________________________________ HOLD DETECTION (watch on the bow arm) - Arm up: forearm near horizontal for 0.4 s - Aiming: arm up and turning slower than 30°/s for 0.5 s - Release: shock bigger than 1.5 g after 1 s of hold; hold time = arm up → release. The bow-arm kick at release is cut off. - Arm down without release: "no release", not attached to any arrow - Only the last 20 s of a hold are kept; holds over 30 s get no hold time - Aim X/Y: gyroscope rotation (left/right, up/down) converted to cm at the shooting distance. Check once: swing the bow slowly right → X should go up; otherwise enable "Invert aim X" (same for Y). _________________________________ WHAT GETS RECORDED (FIT developer fields) - Per second: aim X / Y offset from the recent centre (X + = left, Y + = up), only while AIMING. Heart rate and respiration are recorded natively. - Per arrow (lap): x, y, score, hold time, aim steadiness X / Y, aim path (32 points, 0.2 s apart). - Session: arrows, total, group centre, average hold time and steadiness. _________________________________ REPORT AND AIM PATHS - The last 8 s before each release are kept as the aim path, drawn ending on the marked hit: purple = approach (raise, draw), blue = aim (last 2 s), red = break. This assumes the arrow landed where the bow pointed at release. - Aim MOA: aim wobble in the last 2 s as an angle (1 MOA = 1/60 degree ≈ 2 cm at 70 m, 0.5 cm at 18 m). Lower = steadier. - Aim float: where the aim was before each release; the arrow shows the average drift into the release. - Garmin Connect cannot show images: `tools/plot_shots .py activity .fit --dist 70 --out report.png` (package source on GitHub) renders the same report on a computer. --dist = distance set on the watch. _________________________________ SETTINGS Face, distance, wrist, drag precision, invert X / Y: on the watch (UP before START) or in the Connect IQ app. _________________________________ NO DATA IS TRANSMITTED OUT OF YOUR DEVICES / GARMIN ACCOUNT!
