Live UV Index for major cities across Australia ──────────────────── Australia UV Live displays the actual measured UV Index — directly from the Australia Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA). The main benefit of the app is to provide the live UV index. However, the app also stores one day's worth of forecasted data locally, which you can view even without an internet connection. The app will automatically try to download the latest forecast data each day at 6am. You will know when forecasted data is being displayed by an `(F)` being shown, as well as the pointer being outlined instead of filled in. There are three pages in the app, which you can scroll through by either using the physical "Up" and "Down" buttons or by swiping up and down on the touchscreen. ──────────────────── --- Support the development! --- I develop this app as a hobby project 100% in my free time. It will always be free to use. If you appreciate my efforts, a small donation would help to keep me motivated! You can donate here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/HEPCY3XUM69ZQ ──────────────────── --- Supported Cities --- ACT: Canberra NSW: Sydney, Newcastle NT: Darwin, Alice Springs QLD: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Emerald SA: Adelaide TAS: Kingston VIC: Melbourne WA: Perth ──────────────────── --- Location Detection --- 1. Use the same location as the built-in Garmin Weather app (API level 3.2.0+) Uses the same location that the inbuilt Garmin weather app is using (usually retrieved from your phone's GPS location). — 2. Use Device GPS Uses the location from your device's GPS. Generally, this will be the last known GPS location. If the app is unable to retrieve GPS coordinates, it will fall back to option 3. If the app is using the incorrect location, try starting an activity that uses GPS and then re-opening the app. — 3. Use the location of a fixed city selected in app settings This option lets you manually choose a city from the supported list in the app settings. It is also used as a fallback if your selected method is unavailable. NOTE: Your chosen location method is only used when you are online. Offline data will always be for the last successfully retrieved city. ──────────────────── --- Error Messages --- "ARPANSA server is down" – This means that the ARPANSA server could not be reached. I don't have any control over the ARPANSA server, so there is nothing I can do to fix this when it happens. "No data available" – Data may not be available before 6 a.m. local time. Try again after 6 a.m. "Internal server error" – Something went wrong on my server. If the problem persists, please use the 'Contact Developer' button on Connect IQ to let me know of the issue. If you encounter any other errors, please use the 'Contact Developer' button on Connect IQ to let me know of the issue. ──────────────────── --- Privacy Notice --- The app does not connect directly to ARPANSA servers, all requests go through my own custom-built proxy running on Vercel. No personal information is intentionally stored by me. When the app obtains your GPS location, the coordinates are rounded by the app before they are sent to the server. This removes the precision of the original GPS location and provides only an approximate location. If you are concerned about your privacy, you can choose to use a fixed city instead of your GPS location. ──────────────────── Don't forget to always stay sun safe by following Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek & Slide：https://www.cancer.org.au/cancer-information/causes-and-prevention/sun-safety/campaigns-and-events/slip-slop-slap-seek-slide Data Source: https://www.arpansa.gov.au/our-services/monitoring/ultraviolet-radiation-monitoring/ultraviolet-radiation-index UV Data Disclaimer: https://www.arpansa.gov.au/our-services/monitoring/ultraviolet-radiation-monitoring/ultraviolet-radiation-data-information-developers#Disclaimer

Čo je nové

The previous release included the following new feature which required you to opt-in to use it. It is now enabled by default for all users, but can be disabled in the Connect IQ settings if desired. The app will now automatically download the UV forecast for the day at 6am without you needing to open the app. There should be no impact on battery life, as the background refresh is only triggered once per day at 6am. If it fails, it will not try again. Please note this feature is only available on devices that support background events, which is devices with at least API level 2.3.0. If you try to enable it on a device that does not support background events, it will be automatically disabled next time you open the app. ──────────────────── I develop this app as a hobby project 100% in my free time. It will always be free to use. If you appreciate my efforts, a small donation would help to keep me motivated! You can donate here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/HEPCY3XUM69ZQ
